@HumanEarth It wouldn't have worked. Red Buttons, whom I now remember is NOT Redd Foxx, was from an even earlier more slapstick comedy era.

Too different styles of comedies. Buttons was more Vaudeville and theatrical and Foxx was more slapstick.
