What is the difference between ignorance and apathy?

Never trust an Atom, they make up everything.
But if they didn’t, would it matter ?

Ignorance means you actually don’t know, apathy I believe means you have no interest in knowing something.
Not sure but that’s my opinion.

Apathy is knowing and not caring. Ignorance just means you don't know something. Though the connotation has changed over the years.
