Be considerate to your insect friends, encounters like these might not happen for a lot longer

I was strolling along the side of the street and noticed a luna moth struggling in the heat, disoriented on her back, probably also affected by the chemicals being used to clean the roads.

They have a reputation as endangered even if they aren't in most places. Had I not been the one to encounter her, she would've been run over or eaten by someone's dog (people here are extremely excessive with dogs). I gave her some of my bottled water to perk her up enough to carry her somewhere.

Would you believe though that she didn't mind being carried places and was very photogenic too?

The area where I was is a small residential block surrounded on all sides by roads, and based on her stumbling, I could see people were being excessive with the road maintenance. I was afraid she'd end up either run over, eaten, or dying under the heat. I ended up doing my best to carefully carry her up a quarter mile to find her the one orange lily that isn't on someone's property.

After waiting a few minutes to make sure she didn't stumble and end up succumbing again, I was thanked with her smile of approval.

When people don't always know what they're doing, the little things always help.

@SomeMichGuy You're welcome. It was the least I could do.
God bless you for caring for God's creation, this beautiful moth. Thank you for taking the time to care about it and love it and help it. I wish there were thousands more like you. I do hope it got enough nourishment and could fly.

The photos document the journey of a small and beautiful creature rising from weakness to strength with the aid of man. It is very thoughtful. One moment it was on the verge of death, and now it appears to be ok, after the human hand did something good.

@sp1dwoOfe221 She seems alright to me.
@pentagrammom Just stop it. Get help or get off.

i watched someone liberate one that was stuck inside the glass mantle of an exterior light outside their front door late one evening where it remained docile on the porch guardrail for some time as everyone eventually settled back in, only to find it hopelessly caught up smothered in webs up along the building's roof bulkhead the next day.

i suppose when it's ur time to go...

That's lovely!
This is so lovely.

Doing big things in tiny ways🤗🤗
Be conscious of the human stabilizer, thankfully she doesn't support the narrative of the one script for all

Be aware that your grasp on reality failed when Mike died, @pentagrammom. Call 9 8 8 and talk to real people who can help you.

When it gets dark it's every man and bug for themselves. They're eating me alive out here so I will straight up break out a flamethrower if necessary.

@BuzzedLightyear That's what bugspray was invented for.
