I've been like that a few times. It's normally right before I'm due some vacation time from work
4meAndyou · F
@UKNaturist That's a sign, for sure. Working too long and hard wrecks you.

FreddieUK · 70-79, M
I know what you mean. We have some very good news bulletins on BBC Radio 4 and 3 read at a sensible pace, but often other stations pack so much into 2 minutes that I can't tell when the story has changed, which gabbled interviewee is who and I just 'tune out'. Mind you, when I do understand what they're saying I have no addition of joy to my life.

Alas, the standard of English even on BBC bulletins is sometimes so lax, I am distracted by it.

@FreddieUK Normally, I can at least follow along. Today, with only 6 hours sleep, it was as though I was a teenager again and my mother was going on and on in the background. I could hear, but the comprehension was cut off.
FreddieUK · 70-79, M
@4meAndyou I like that analogy.
ArishMell · 70-79, M
No. Not by the presenters anyway. The newsreaders I hear are all coherent and clear in speech; though one of the Today presenters sometimes slurs consonents and runs his words together a bit.

Many interviewees (especially politicians) seem not to know what they are talking about themselves, though!

Perhaps I find this because I don't listen to stations that try to cram everything in at breakneck speed; as if talking more slowly and pausing for breath is somehow wrong.

@ArishMell I've passed my emoji limit temporarily, but consider yourself smile emojied.

Yes many times but I struggle with sleep and at times I'm so tired I just kinda space off and not hear what is going on around me
4meAndyou · F
@Cigarguy101 That is what happened 2 days ago. Fortunately, it has not happened since. ☺☺☺

@BridgeOvertroubledWaters I passed my emoji limit, but consider yourself smile emojied. Yes, I know what you mean. I don't watch nearly as much now. Hard to get over my headphones in the morning habit.
@4meAndyou

Know the line from the Simon & Garfunkel song The Only Living Boy in New York :
"I get the news I need on the weather report
Oh, I can gather all the news I need on the weather report"
Musicman · 61-69, MVIP
Oh yes! A week ago I just couldn't wake up one day. Everything seemed like it was in a fog. Go back to sleep if you can.
4meAndyou · F
@Musicman
Sounds like a good idea. Maybe later...I took a caffeine capsule and two green tea extract capsules.
Thevy29 · 41-45, M
You could be wide awake and still have no idea what's happening in the news these days
4meAndyou · F
@Thevy29 That is so, SO true!!!
ArishMell · 70-79, M
@Thevy29 Quite so!
