I would get bored without it more often, but I would find other ways to occupy my time.
I grow more concerned about how I would support myself without the internet. I'm heavily disabled. I can't just take up a factory job or even stock shelves in a grocery store. I'd need to go back to school to take up something like psychology and hope I could get work. Or try to get disability.

I'd be fine. Even better. There's nature and books, I'm good.

I'd go back to the 60s right now if I could.

I managed the first 16 years of my life just fine.
Forever... Books are awesome. 🤷🏾

Just like Freddy, I lived a good part of my life without it. I was in my thirties when I became somewhat addicted to it.
I have always felt that being REQUIRED to have a cell phone was a major imposition on my privacy, (One college required it), and if there WERE no internet, I would still have the public library.
One HUGE thing I would miss, however, is INSTANTLY having the answers to my thousands of questions about everything available to me. I still remember how awful it was to WANT an answer...and to have to WAIT till I got to the library...and then to have to HUNT through all the books there for my answer!

When I've stayed in a remote place, I've had no internet for a week
Physically, a long time...
Mentally... it'd be torture at first, but if I could survive that struggling period, then it might become pure freedom.

We had a complete power outage just the other night the whole area was dark.
No lights, no internet, it was was kind of cool just to sit outside and listen to the quiet.

@Thinkerbell For me electricity would be the most serious thing to be without as I have medical equipment that relies on it. That's the one thing that modern society would really struggle without if it disappeared permanently for any reason

Fortunately, we had (and still have) a small1500 watt standby generator with which to run the fridge and a few lights.

Oh my god, if the internet got cancelled, I'd have to start hanging out at the mall again... or hiding at the library gossiping in real time with like-minded friends...

Just thinking about that possibility gives me the shakes... 😨

Forever. I wasn't born into the internet age. I was 21 when I first started using it.
ArishMell · 70-79, M
I'd assume we'd still have the alternative ways to find real information, as we did before the Internet became so pervasive. If so, I'd manage! After all, I did for more than half of my life so far.

I lived most of my life without it. I wouldn't miss it. 99% of what is on it is a total waste of time.

As long as it takes to come back on I try to think of backups.
supersnipe · 61-69, M
Until I needed it for official business. Otherwise I could manage without it.
