Strange situation.
From what I’ve seen and experienced, seems that people have different definitions of being a friend on social media. For me, it means seeing more of a user in my feed thus more opportunity for interaction. That’s about it really. For others, there may be an expectation of more regular contact including PMs. Any number/combination of expectations people might have, and with some users being very sensitive, their trigger finger is always on the block button, ready to block at the slightest sign of their needs not being met.
But at the end of the day it’s really just a guessing game, trying to decipher human behavior.

@MarbleMarvel Lol…… same. And I didn’t even take it personally when you sent me a lovely gift back in November and my thank you PM went unread. 😂
@OlderSometimesWiser yeah I get overwhelmed with the messages. I have 28 unread ones rn. I'm a bad Internet person I guess.
@MarbleMarvel You’re just fine, and I for one am glad you’re here. 🤗

Been there plenty of times before. This is why I very carefully choose my friends nowadays, yet even then, it’s still happened. But hey, it’s no real loss when you think about it. Just goes to show they never were a friend in the first place. Maybe you considered them such, but they clearly didn’t feel the same. Fuhgeddaboudit. Ditch them like they ditched you and lean on your actual friends while they last.
@Ducky truth!

Same thing happened to me.
When I'm friends with someone, I'm all in, even when we disagree. We can either work it out or simply agree to disagree and move on. Silly me, I thought that's how it worked. 🤷♂
Apparantly if everyone's opinion is exactly the same, we're fine. If not, block each other. Wtf....

I do not think I have ever been blocked by an SW friend.
Most of the times I get blocked is because I intentionally aggravated someone.

Been there. No idea why and just seemed to come out of the blue. I've since been unblocked but not knowing why it happened in the first place I haven't reached out to see why.
I just presume that they need a break from me... I can be a bit much at times.

@HootyTheNightOwl no don't think like that... If someone blocks you it's on them, not on you. Unless you're the satan troll or similar of course lol
being · 36-40, F
Sorry to hear that...but hey you know what, in the end it's their loss. What else do they need from you online ? Nudes 😏 .. kid
Seriously, it's what they need from themselves and not from you, this is how I see it.

@MarbleMarvel ya, I can't keep up with PMs either... I was trying at one point but nowadays I don't want to be a disappointment and leave another's message pending for long, some people don't take it the right way...so I abstain altogether and I have my peace of mind
@being same, I get it. I still care lots and enjoy keeping up with people, but messaging a bunch of people is overwhelming.

@MarbleMarvel exactly...❤

Who knows what some people are going through don't take it personally
@metaldog I can't take it personally. But I feel something when it's a long time buddy.

@MarbleMarvel this online world is strange
@metaldog it sure is, online and off lol

I’ve had that experience. I vacillate between just moving on, (no other real choice) and sadly wondering what the heck I did. 🥺
@bijouxbroussard some mysteries need to go cold

@JackOatMon one minute they're sending hugs and saying nice things, the next you're blocked... I haven't even been offensive lately 😂 I've been pretty mellow.

@MarbleMarvel maybe better off without them, always new friends to meet. 😏
