More confidence born out of experience; I'm just so much better at doing most things now. I feel happier and more a peace with myself. I don't waste time on the small stuff because time is precious to me so I cherish it more.

Realizing how little you know, but it doesn't really matter. Appreciating loving gestures of appreciation even if they aren't deserved. Having time to look deeper into things that just slipped under the radar in busier times. Getting to hit golf balls from senior tees.

Well let's see??? The benefits of getting older? 🤔 I'm starting to see some gray hairs. I have a distinct wrinkle starting on my forehead. I now have two seemingly permanent smile lines in my cheeks.
Can't wait to see what is next! 🙄

@sarabee1995 perfectly imperfect

You don't have people trying to tell you how to live your life.
You don't have people trying to sell you as many lies.
The Kids are raised and out of the house, well except for those people who make the wise choice to get pregnant in their 40's.
You know better than to waste time on pursuits that are never going to benefit. Like trying to 4ss-nose one's way up the corporate ladder.
You don't feel the need to prove yourself like when you are young.
You have seen "the end of the world" enough times that it doesn't phase you when they invent a new ailment, war, rapture, natural disaster, etc that we are suppose to be afraid of.
Dating and "intimacy" become something we can "take it or leave it".
More wisdom. I mean OBVIOUSLY we are not as wise as a 20 something year old who knows it all, but we do our best. 😄

@Punches agree! I can relate

Retirement. Freedom from the employment aggravation. But the loss of Vickie now has me sedentary and it's working against me.

@BiasForAction The bummer was I retired the same month the pandemic lockdowns started. It was good we were natural home bodies but we also like to take country drives and that sadly came to a stop.
BiasForAction · M
@Gibbon that was a lost year or two for us too
Gibbon · 70-79, M
@BiasForAction I still don't believe it was necessary. The virus spread as it felt like it vaccines or not. And what everyone knew is coming to light. Especially the heart dangers of the mRNA shots. Vickie and I got the traditional developed J&J jabs because I felt like those lab developed mRNAs were science voodoo to make a buck quick.

People rarely ask for proof that I'm an adult.

Not a damn thing. You start aching for no reason, the days of eating however much of you want of whatever you want are gone, you get fatter faster than you ever thought possible. Somehow the days go faster and you don’t understand how. Time is quickly disappearing from your life. Your family especially your parents are ripped away from life from you. You plan a vacation for 5 days in June and it only feels like you spent two days. Where the hell did the other three go?
Punches · 46-50, F
@tfan123 Vacations are always quick. Remember our three month summer breaks from school, how those flew by in an instant?
Though yes, time does go by faster. I think because most days or weeks are carbon copies. When we were kids, each year was a distinct experience.
For eating what we want - thing is when we know we will have bad reactions, we don't even want foods we used to like. They don't seem as good.
