Lefties : what are your fantasies about a better future ?

Abstraction · 61-69, M Best Comment
'Lefties'?

My dream of the future for my country is that the kids born to parents battling to make a living can access health care, good education and ultimately opportunities for jobs. When I was young tertiary education became free (left wing non-socialist party) and it changed society by creating social mobility so that the dream of starting poor and doing well through hard work became real. And the country prospered economically because of it. That's a matter of history.
To stop the welfare handouts for the wealthy and the onset of homelessness due to tax offsets for wealthy investors to buy up multiple properties when young couples can't even pay rent now.
To fix the tax system so that the super wealthy contributed to the society they profit from (I base this on the high number of corporations identified and % of highly wealthy who paid no tax last year). For transparency in the political system so that political donations weren't setting policy that benefited the few and continued to increase ridiculous levels of property ownership and wealth for the 1% and sweetheart government deals under the table worth up to a thousand times more than their petty donation to their political party. Yes, all this is statistically verified.
Better environmental management so that my grandchildren can explore the beauty of my country isn't completely bulldozed, concreted, destroyed because a company can make a buck from it.
I'll add: to return to respectful debate and disagreement instead of tribal rage and hatred fueled by media and social media.
Stuff like that.

Thanks for best comment. It sounds like classic liberal but I take each issue on its merits. I agree with many views on the 'right' for instance. I'm sure a good percentage of people on both sides are like this rather than classic left or right. I find when I listen to people once we get past the stereotype projection we often agree on a lot.

@Abstraction Hear hear!

How about cutting the corporate welfare and getting serious about a living wage, new deal type things
revenant · F
@bookerdana It could be argued that some small businesses have to pay so many taxes and overheads that it makes them difficult to stay afloat. Not talking about big corporations though.
bookerdana · M
@revenant The middle classes have been gutted, thhe most recent example being the one year tax break engineered by Paul Ryan ...the upper crust got their in perpetuity....Ryan left having accomplished his mission
revenant · F
@bookerdana same everywhere...it is the middle classes who suffer the most.

A world government controlled by leftist bureaucrats where an AI beast system monitors all remaining people on earth.

A cookie cutter drone society where freedom of speech, privacy, cash and the middle class no longer exist.

A godless driven world, where humanity is transitioned into some kind of freakish creation. Where food rationing, food scarcity are commonplace and where synthetic meat and bugs are the main course.

Joe Biden and Hussein Obama's freak world where post constitutional leftist technocratic misfits control society. Virtue less lowlifes who will virtue signal ad nauseam until they finish off destroying everything in site.

Marxists will always create endless crisis and division in order to achieved their psychotic goal of world government and permanent tyranny.

O'Bidenstein and his overlords have managed to create permanent poverty and chaos in about two years.

@therighttothink50 I find the neo marxists 's views pretty bleak alright, very much like the movie The Stanford Wives. What is ideal to them is a nightmare to me.

@Alyosha ahahah...not even something close to a proposal
@Alyosha everyone knows theres not a way out. Change and democracy can't kill NATO! Murkan people like this! Only war is right. What war? You don't know about any wars! Exactly right for Murka. Nothing is true. Guns and cars and oil. Huh?
gol979 · 41-45, M
As a former mainstream lefty.....but now actually left, a good dollop of volutaryism.

The terms left/right are (deliberately) very devisive.
gol979 · 41-45, M
@revenant its the state of all human actions being accepted if both adult parties consent and its causing no harm....away you go. Nothing new.and a shame this has to be put into an "ism"
Abstraction · 61-69, M
@gol979 Left wing/right wing is a manipulative over-simplification. It's almost nonsense. There are multiple dimensions to political differences related to views on economics, politics, society, social change, philosophical positions, levels of government control of people? Or means of production? Totalitarianism? Levels of democracy? Environment?
And people read into left and right emotive simplistic stereotypes. Because this is what we are fed. So if we're 'left' we see someone who has a view on X that is right wing and ascribe to them all the negatives we have about right wing. And vice-versa.
gol979 · 41-45, M
@Abstraction yep. Good ol' divide and conquer
Fungirlvape · 61-69, F

Fantasies?
Sounds inane. Idiots fantasize in a catastrophe.
Dems hate change in a race to the edge.
revenant · F
@Roundandroundwego surely they must have the Ideal Society in mind to which people ought to strive.
Musicman · 61-69, M
That was to difficult of a question. You didn't put Trump in it. Lol!!! 😂😂😂
revenant · F
@Musicman ok lefties....do you ever fantasise about ramming one into Trump's backside ?😉
val70 · 51-55
Always the ones that were around in the 50s
revenant · F
@val70 There is an added twist though. I do not think people dreamt of machines having the control back then.
