Other than my 22 month old grand daughter nobody else has much of a use for me, only the things I can provide.

I think it’s natural for people to take the provider for granted. It doesn’t mean they don’t have any other use for you. They are just comfortable

Try volunteering for a charity.

Try taking up a hobby, preferably with others if poss - eg, join a men's shed.
