I suddenly miss receiving written letters.

Thoughtful words written with so much sincerity and sent with great effort.

Some old age traditions now feel like an expensive gift, too expensive that people don't even talk about them anymore.

I miss letters, too. My wife and I wrote a letter to each other every day when we were dating in college, and we still have a few of them. When we moved 800 miles from our families, I exchanged weekly letters with my father, and I still treasure some of those handwritten letters from him. I still write notes to people, using a real fountain pen, so I haven't totally given up.
