Oh Cr@P, Got Some Mail Stolen…A Used Book From Ebay…

It wasn’t expensive but just shows me that there are thieves looking for stuff to steal here. I bet they won’t even read it. Talked to the lady who delivers mail, told her I was here yesterday when the mail ran and heard something, got my jacket on and went out and there was only junk mail in the mailbox. She said to call the police & report it.

We have it here too.
I was walking my dog yesterday and saw where the community mail box had been broken into and the post office sealed it off with a notice telling everyone to collect their mail at the post office.
I have signed up for paperless billing for everything important.
They can have all of my junk mail offers for hearing aides and burial plots.

@Adrift It’s so bad here that transients hang outside of the post office and leave little “offerings” and it’s littered with beer bottles and other trash now. Used to be neat as a pin there. I went to mail bills last week and saw two socks on the sidewalk and they had been used for toilet paper.

My Christmas gift never made it to our mailbox. The tracking number claims it was in the local post office, but it's not there now. I guess somebody else is enjoying it. I think the mail carrier put it in the wrong box and someone else is enjoying it.

@cherokeepatti Your library might have it. You should check.

@4meAndyou The main library has been shut down for almost 3 years due to mold (almost new building), the little tiny library a mile from here doesn’t have jack squat for reading. It seems they never get anything new and there’s no extra shelf space.

@cherokeepatti Seems to me that your tiny library would be part of a larger network, and that perhaps they could borrow books from other towns and have them shipped in.

When I used to live in Halifax, we were part of the greater Boston network, for example, so I could order and borrow books from the Boston library!

@BizSuitStacy They said on the news several years ago that probably 80% of what people get delivered from Amazon aren’t things that the thieves would be able to use. Things like specialty parts for electrical items or odd supplies or supplements etc. The best they could do is sell try to sell the stuff for a fraction of their value. So they’ll throw away a lot of those things instead. I get medical supplies from a medical supply business and those are expensive. I doubt if they even would know what they are for, And supplements from Amazon, that type of thing.

@BizSuitStacy The Grinch is REAL...😢😢😢

Damn and I didn't get a electric bill
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@MarineBob I have had some mail missing in the past, a city utilities bill and other things. I just wondered if it got delivered to the wrong home and got thrown away back then. There’s no way any more that I will put mail to be picked up in the mailbox unless I sit in a chair and watch the mailbox now. I drive over to the post mile several miles away and mail it there.

@MarineBob this is the book that I ordered.
