Did you ever write a letter to someone in prison?

Yes. A co-worker who, I didn’t work closely with but I knew, got arrested for embezzlement. He got 40 months in jail and had to pay back about $250,000. I thought how devastating that must be so I mailed him a letter just telling him I wished him well and to be strong.

We conversed for about two years until his release. He put his life back together sort of. He lost his house, his job, obviously and is still paying back the money but he’s out.
