I'd have to get rid of most of my stuff, but yes, I could do that.

I could. In fact, that’s twice the size of my current apartment where I live with my dog Chloe,

I am not a seer, but I do have a prediction. Personal residences are going to sharply decline in size over the next 20 years because they will be unaffordable. Not even the house itself, but the utilities that make it livable.
Yulianna · 26-30, F
@Mamapolo2016 also, i think, more and more single living...
@Yulianna Yep. Agreed.
ArishMell · 70-79, M
@Mamapolo2016 A good point. The smaller the house the simpler its maintenance and the lower its heating costs, too.
TheRealBarbossa · 36-40, T
Absolutely! It's not far off from my dream house, actually
MrSmartyPants · 46-50, M
That'd be perfect!!
Absolutely. I lived in a van and loved it. I enjoy smaller spaces.
Banksy83 · 41-45, M
If overlooking Porthmeor beach ,I'll take it ,thank you.
ArtieKat · M
@Banksy83 I've not been to St Ives for many years but it always had a lovely atmosphere
Munumbis · 46-50, M
Sure it would be fine.
Pretzel · 70-79, M
Would love to yry
Selah ·
I always wanted a tiny house
JimboSaturn · 56-60, M
Sure no problem
MrVintage71 · 51-55, M
Absolutely...
Gibbon · 70-79, M
Yes the layout is more functional then my current small lower floor apartment in this old two story converted farm house
Yes, it's adorable
ArtieKat · M
I think a dining room would be less noisy than a dinning room though! 🤪
AdmiralPrune · 46-50, M
This would be more my setting.

FreddieUK · 70-79, M
@AdmiralPrune Of course, this is much more typical of modern British living. Anyone else having trouble in finding below stairs staff?
Gibbon · 70-79, M
@AdmiralPrune I'm not surprised
I’d love that.
Ty for BC, even though there usually IS no best answer - just opinions of equal worth.
Thevy29 · 41-45, M
Almost. I'd need an extra room for my books.
bowman81 · M
Sure I could, but I would need a full basement or a pole barn for a workshop.
NeddyKelly · M
If I was single with no children at home, good chance
TurtlePink · F
It’s super cute if I was living on my own definitely!
GoFish · 41-45, F
yeah its twice as big as my current house.. where's the laundry room tho? oh maybe across from the bathroom
Yulianna · 26-30, F
yes... depending on where it is located...
ninalanyon · 70-79, T
If we include the front and back porches that's about 87 m^2 (ignoring the area lost to partitions). That's about the average size of of a UK dwelling, so not really little.

If we subtract 7' to account for the porches you still have about 71 m^2 of internal space.
That's 943 sq ft. My wife & I lived in an 825 sq ft condo for the first five years of our lives together. Easy peasy ... until the first kid arrived!
Elessar · 31-35, M
I'm single, I can live in a camping tent even
MellyMel22 · F
If it were just me and even another, sure. Would be hard with kids with just one bedroom.
MellyMel22 · F
@ninalanyon Yeah maybe! Unless it’s a small attic. Still very cute!
ninalanyon · 70-79, T
@MellyMel22 Well it's probably the full width of the building, nearly 8 m, and nearly half the length, say 4 m. There are people in big expensive cities who live in flats not much bigger than that.
MellyMel22 · F
@ninalanyon Yes, I’m sure!
Crazywaterspring · 61-69, M
No. There is no room for my books and antiques.
JoyfulSilence · 51-55, M
No.

Not much room between the toilet and the bathroom sink. Small closet. No washer and dryer. Where is the HVAC?
Maturebate · 70-79, M
Forget the "dinning" label ..it's a kitchen and living space. Enclose one of the verandas get extra room .
TexChik · F
Not without a washer, dryer, water heater, AC, and a fridge.
Yulianna · 26-30, F
@TexChik right! never forget the essentials... and is there a landing strip nearby!
TexChik · F
@Yulianna Let's hope so because I don't know how to fly rotor air craft.
Yulianna · 26-30, F
@TexChik good point!
ArishMell · 70-79, M
Probably similar area to a lot of flats and some small houses now being built.

Many people would be perfectly happy with a place that small, because they do not need a large house.

It would not suit me because I have too much "stuff"!
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
No. Where's a fridge and a washing machine and where would I hang the laundry?
It looks overall claustrophobic. I'm not sure if there's enough space for all kitchen appliances.
Yulianna · 26-30, F
@CrazyMusicLover and there's no place for the servants to sleep!

maybe on the porch?
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
@Yulianna Sorry but there's only so much stuff I'm willing to handwash. 😆 Also not putting my food on the window-sil in winter.
DDonde · 36-40, M
Yes, I don't need much
It's enough space but bad internal design
