Why do rich people build boring mansions instead of castles ?

Castles can be cold.

But you might look at the Builtmore estate, and some homes built by rich ppl in California or other places where there has been money (e.g., old estates in the Hudson River Valley, like Lyndhurst).

I think Enya lives in a castle.

You can't buy class or taste. If you look at what they've done to become that rich, I'm guessing you see very little joy or beauty.
