What is the least favorite thing about your house or apartment?

Puppycat23 · F Best Comment
Living on the 3rd floor is not fun when grocery day comes

and these two dogs:

They’ll bark at anything all day everyday making a lot of noise. They’re an unstoppable force

Hanginginthere · 31-35, M
@Puppycat23 hmm but what triggers them to bark so much?
Puppycat23 · F
@Hanginginthere I believe it’s the fact that they’re small and small dogs love to show their dominance

Third floor walk-up which was not fun when I fractured my back last year. Fire department had to put me in a special chair and back me down 22 steps in order to get me out to the ambulance. Scary AF.

I have a stacked duplex. My least favorite thing is mine is the second story and i have to up and down two sets of stairs on laundry day and grocery day😒
LilPrincess · 41-45, F
@Hanginginthere me too. I have two teenagers and one adult daughter and sadly i use up more laundry than they do
Hanginginthere · 31-35, M
@LilPrincess I hope they do their own laundry!
LilPrincess · 41-45, F
@Hanginginthere They would but I have to take it to the laundry mat
Same as a couple of the others—I’m on the top floor. Great view and a degree of security, but schlepping laundry and groceries up to the flat can be a chore.
Hanginginthere · 31-35, M
@bijouxbroussard my building has a washer and dryer but I don’t think they clean either machine 😂
@bijouxbroussard Schlepping? I can word the word together. I imagine the chore. I sling everything up to my apartment, worrying about my noise in the communal hallway at all hours. Now, I'm wondering if your classical trained fingers in piano help you. ❤️
@thewindupbirdchronicles No, has no affect on heavy lifting.

The fact that the bedrooms are upstairs and the kitchen, dining and living rooms are downstairs....and mostly because my wife has medical problems and finds it hard to go up and down the stairs a lot.

having to pay high rent every month
@Hanginginthere i live in one of the most expensive cities in canada to live...i could move but i won't. but a lot of people are moving elsewhere in canada
Hanginginthere · 31-35, M
@beermeplease I’m thinking about moving if I can find something cheaper
@Hanginginthere i'm on the west coast so i like our climate. i couldn't handle the winters in the rest of canada....maybe if i was younger i would. but i'll stay put. but if i was american and say living in san fran where rent is high then i'd have more options...
ImpeccablyImperfect · 51-55, F
I kinda wish the laundry was on the main floor, but otherwise it’s a great house.
The kitchen feels very closed off and small.
Plasticbag · 100+, M
I’m not emotionally attached to any part of this house so I dont really wish for different. It does the job.
Plasticbag · 100+, M
@Starcrossed I’d hope to. I’ve loved all of my houses and worked hard on them..this one is meh but it’s home. Long story but I didn’t really have a choice it was just bad timing.
Starcrossed · 41-45, F
@Plasticbag that's unfortunate. I hope you find a place that's perfect someday.
Plasticbag · 100+, M
@Starcrossed hey we’re lucky to have a home and it’s nice so I’m thankful 🙏🏻
The location. The neighbourhood has been taken over by contractors who are tearing down the old, small houses and building monstrosities. The new structures are ugly, and driving my property tax to the moon. 😤
PerfectionOfTheHeart · 46-50, F
The best and worst thing about it is the location. Love that I’m this close to the water. Really don’t like that numerous others can say the same thing. Too many houses on top of each other in this area.
This time of year my house is light but on the shortest days of the year it’s dark, especially my north facing room. My bedroom has two windows so that’s nice and light but it’s very cold in winter, in the summer it’s so hot.
Starcrossed · 41-45, F
That we're all neurodivergent in different ways and the house is rarely in order.

And the tiny bathtub.
Julien · 36-40, M
My balcony door is facing NW it gets all the rain and wind , I can’t close it all the way in summer
i like the garden but i hate the garden work...
How small the bathrooms are 😂
Hanginginthere · 31-35, M
@Wallflow3r 😂 how big do you want it?
Jeephikelove · 46-50, F
All the work and keep up.
Hanginginthere · 31-35, M
@Jeephikelove older structure?
Jeephikelove · 46-50, F
@Hanginginthere no, we built it ourselves but are finishing the ground floor, doing landscaping and getting ready to build a large shop as well.
Lilymoon · F
It's too small but it beats an apartment 🤷‍♀️
pentacorn · F
how small my bathroom is and the way it's designed
the property taxes
Too many people
Structural damage
TheLordOfHell · 41-45
My living quarters. It is my safe zone, probably the only one I've got in this universe.
lumberjackslam · 41-45, M
the lack of yard. other than that it's cool.
