Do you manage without a house help?

How?
I do everything, cook, clean, shop, water the lawns and plants as well as take care of a disabled adult child AND I run a profitable business from my home office.

It is all about efficient time management.

@NewRaven Some weeks in the summer when I'm doing a lot outside stuff, I don't clean the house. I just suffer a dirty house because I would rather be doing tasks outside.

@Threepio what's your business? Bookkeeping?
@Mostlymeat I own a business that supplies materials to hobbyist's.

We keep things clean and neat, but we do have someone come in once a month to do a deeper clean. She needs the work, and we can afford a couple of hours of her time.

I will never again have someone come into my home to clean it. The first and last time was a disaster

I work full time and during the week I tidy in the evenings where needed. I have 3 boys 17-21 who help with inside and cutting grass/snow removal when they aren’t working/in school. On Saturdays I clean the house. Sundays I get groceries
BarbossasHusband · 36-40, M
Yes. And I manage gmaws house aswell, cause she can't do it herself.

Priorities.
I manage fine, but if you saw my house you might think I need a house help! 😜
JimboSaturn · 51-55, M
Almost everyone where I am lives with no house help.

I pick up and clean up as I go, which leaves me with maybe four hours (at most) of dedicated cleaning time once a week. Grocery shopping I do once a week on Friday, usually about 1 in the afternoon. Takes an hour including the round trip to the store.
WhateverWorks · 36-40
Gosh, I’ve never had a housekeeper. I remember once for a little while I was falling behind in my homework, so I would pay a neighbor to come over to help me catch up on some stuff, but that was a temporary, brief arrangement.
I do everything.

Maintenance is easier than doing a major clean up. The kitchen and washrooms are cleaned every end of the day. Vaccum every 2 days. Laundry Wed nights (it I have plans for the weekend).
Raaii · 18-21, F
yes
It always has been like this for us
assemblingaknob · 26-30, F
@Raaii same. Except I still don't do anything and the place is a mess
Raaii · 18-21, F
@assemblingaknob actually my place is a mess too
It's a very small room
And I think it's okay to be messy
As students We're compromising a lot
So just stay healthy 🙇‍♀️ it's oki to be little messy

scorpio611 · 41-45, M
Yes i can manage. I used to manage when i was a student and lived in a rented apartment. And no i never kept it messy. Everything would be at right place and clean. Thats what we were taught in school and at home. Stay organised and planned
Iwillwait · M
I barely do.
basilfawlty89 · 31-35, M
Easy.
I do my own laundry, cook my own food and clean my place.

Laundry is the easiest. Just put it in and set a timer.
DDonde · 31-35, M
never had one growing up, don't have one now. You do what you gotta do.
iamonfire696 · 41-45, F
