I think that’s cause the season ends on Christmas Day. It seems to start earlier every year but there is an abrupt stop. To me, that’s a bit of a downer.

That’s more a thing the older you get. At least until you have kids. Then the day is special again as you live Christmas through them.

It is a "process." They are more dynamic. That is why I enjoy the entire season from Halloween through New Years. People feel more playful and joyous.

Not if you are a little child. The WAY we celebrate Christmas, with toys and gifts, is FOR them.
We who are older need to remember that Christmas is a celebration of the birth of Christ. It is a HOLY day. The best way to celebrate is to go to church, and listen to inspiring music.

Yes, that's how it has always been. Except maybe when we were going to relatives when I was a kid. It meant more than one Christmas day.
