Is it just me, or is the build-up to Christmas way more exciting than Christmas Day itself? The actual day always feels a bit dull in comparison.

That’s more a thing the older you get. At least until you have kids. Then the day is special again as you live Christmas through them.

Yes, that's how it has always been. Except maybe when we were going to relatives when I was a kid. It meant more than one Christmas day.
