What was the worst last minute gift idea?

When I was younger and worked retail, I’d buy a lot of my gifts the last few days before Christmas.

It was slim pickings by that time but it’s what I did.

The worst was when everyone got CD crate holders for Christmas. Yeah it’s as unimpressive as it sounds.

The year my youngest sister eloped and I suddenly had a new brother in law I rushed out and bought a cheese log for him. I gave it to him on our way to Christmas services and he looked underwhelmed, but my sister told him that as services dragged on and we got hungry folks might very well be fighting him for that cheese log. 😳

Ive been given awful stuff before from an ex-boss. She regifted - which is fine - but never checked dates on candies or took labels off.

I think almost ANY pre-packaged gift set is a horrible gift, especially the ones that contain food. I received a hot cocoa mug with a package of cocoa attached, and some dried up mini marshmallows.

I would think a disposable lighter would be one of the worst things you could get someone for Christmas and the cheapest.
