So why do we celebrate Christmas 🎄 anyway?

Alot of Christmas songs said that Jesus was born on Christmas day but I don't think that really happened In the bible as I've read the Bible

You are absolutely right. I believe the chosen Christmas day, is more of a convenience for those all over the world who love and follow the Lord and His Word, as a set date to commemorate the birth of Jesus Christ, believed to be the Son of God. The holiday is a time to reflect on Jesus's arrival as a gift of salvation and to remember his teachings of love and goodwill. The name "Christmas" itself is derived from "Christ's Mass," a service celebrating the birth of Christ.

I sometimes think people put too much emphasis, and get hung up and even stressed out over the date that Christmas falls on, but the emphasis should be on the hope that Christ brought to the world by experiencing salvation through him and eternal life in heaven.

The central reason for the celebration is the birth of Jesus, marking the beginning of God's plan to reconcile humanity with him.

Jesus's birth is a reminder of God's immense love for the world and the gift of salvation he offered through his son.

The season is also a time for spiritual reflection on the core tenets of the Christian faith, including the hope, joy, and peace that Jesus' coming represents. It inspires traditions of giving, kindness, and peace, encouraging people to be more caring and selfless toward others.

I always thought he must have been born around easter time (ironically), as it was clearly warm enough for sheep to be out in the fields, for the shepherds to be out watching them when the angels appeared.

And as LadyGrace says, if you're going to celebrate the birth of the redeemer at some point in the year, around the time of the longest night (21st December) makes the most sense, because it's about the hope in the coming of new light. It's not even convenience so much as it's poetically beautiful IMO

It's why I think Christians in the southern hemisphere ought to do as most neopagans do, and move the calendar by 6 months. Christmas doesn't have to be snow and tinsel but I think is intimately connected to the time of darkness each year.

I stopped celebrating Christmas for many years because it isn't the correct time of birth for Yeshua or a mandated Biblical Holiday, but we will celebrate this year. I finally decided that if I am celebrating his birth in my heart, then that is what the Holiday means to me, and there is something to be said for tradition. 🤷‍♀
@Thinkerbell I enjoyed your lovely, joyful video. Thank you for that. You always share such joyful things with us and I appreciate you so much. I'm sure others do, too. You're so special. Thank you for being you and being here with us to share your thoughts.
@Thinkerbell Many people have been asking me about things that have to do with Christmas. I'm about to put up an article, so please give me time to submit it. Thank you.

Tradition, a time for family get-togethers. Jesus wasn't born on 25th December so it doesn't really count as officially his 'birthday' but I suppose it a good enough time of the year to celebrate and give thanks.
@coffeebycandlelight You've got the right spirit.

It's all politics. Saturnalia, the Winter Solstice, was celebrated by a lot of religions so the creators of Christianity placed Jesus's birthday near then. You're either with us or against us.

For what I understand he was born in October early November maybe. It's just a commercial thing.
@Unquestioned I love what you said here and it's honest. You know I'm contemplating some things about this very thing and I'm learning more. I want to devote my answer when I can give you the time and consideration you deserve, so give me time to answer this effectively. There's a lot more to this than meets the eye. Thank you for this important addition to my post.
@LadyGrace I'll be addressing this in an article I just wrote, as many have been questioning me about Christmas. I'm going to put it up now. I'll need time. I hope you'll like it.

Jesus was not born on December according to biblical scholars. Chritmas was established to replace a pagan holiday. Many Christians feasts are like that
The Catholic church may have done it to attract pagan worshippers.

It doesn't matter what day Jesus was born on.
