They have Christmas without me

My sister always invites my Mum to hers for Christmas day but she doesn't invite me. Last year was my first Christmas without my boyfriend and I had to cope on my own. The only gift I get is from my Mum. So this year I bought myself a few things from Amazon. As I opened the packages I closed my eyes and put Christmas paper over them so I couldn't see them. So now I have something to open on Christmas day. I imagine my boyfriend is sending them to me from heaven. I know that sounds silly but it helps me cope. Plus although I know what was ordered as I haven't seen them its still a little bit of a surprise. I will cook Christmas dinner for one and listen to Christmas music and watch movies. To make my own special Christmas!

If you can't celebrate with friends, how about doing something with other people on charity? That way, it'd be more meaningful. Maybe strangers can be closer than family ever was or is.

I'm sorry for your loss.

@Casheyane After my parents divorce, my Mother invited GI's to our house through the nearby military base program to give holidays to folks without nearby family.

That’s sad - sorry it’s that way. I don’t have a lot of family - I’m an only child, but I’m close to my mom and her brother. We always get together. Wish I could invite you too.

Sure, Christmas on your own can be a bit weird, making all those preparations just for yourself.

I like your idea of the Amazon presents. That's a good move.

And sorry about your boyfriend. 🤗

It can be saddening to be excluded.
