A few weeks ago, I was talking to my sister on the phone. Her son had just told her he couldnt make it home for Christmas, so i invited her to ours for dinner. During the conversation she said, 'you know, what i'd really love for Christmas is for somebody to wake me in the morning with a cup of tea and a bacon butty, that i hadnt had to make myself.' She's lived alone ( by choice) with her doggies for many years, so i understood her wish.
So Xmas morning, my hubby made bacon baps, i wrapped them up in foil and made tea in insulated cups. Packed up a basket with fruit and flap jacks, and sausages for the dogs and drove to my sister's house at 7.30 am. I sent her a Merry Christmas text to make sure she was up! She replied, so I texted back saying, 'do you remember what you told me youd wish for at Christmas?' She answered 'yes????' So i said 'delivery any minute!' We rang the doorbell and her face was a picture!! She was so happy!! She said, 'i cant believe you've gone to all this trouble!!' to which my husband replied, 'well, we've got to look out for the oldies.....care in the community and all that!!' Oh my we laughed!! So we sat and ate breakfast together and it was lovely! Then, we rushed home to start dinner. 😁
@LunadelobosIAMTHEDRAGON she always has lurchers. She loves them. Shes lost two old boys in the last 3 years, big hairy boys, deerhound cross and wolfhound cross. These two, shes only had a few months. They have settled really well and are lovely natured. 🤗
@RubySoo Awesome but even if it were a couple of hours, I would have done that for my sister too. Of course, I would have made the food for her once I arrived to keep it fresh.

Wow, what a precious gift! You made a Christmas wish come true. Nothing tops that! You sure can tell you are sisters. What a tidy, simple home. And those dogs look like they want some of the food!
