Was it an organic virgin goose?
Picklebobble2 · 56-60, M
@SW-User Don't think so
AntisocialTroll · 56-60, F
Flucking hell!

I'd expect a live one for that money.
SunshineGirl · 36-40, F
Goose is delicious . . it will be worth it 😊 Use some of the fat for roasting the potatoes.

Not that many farms in this country produce them commercially. I bought a frozen one from Hungary at Lidl for £25. We will have it on New Years Day at my mother's.

Is that made of gold? Lol
Ontheroad · M
Yikes! I paid $2.49 a pound for a fresh, unfrozen turkey (on sale) and I thought I was getting robbed... did the butcher wear a mask?
meggie · F
I ended up with Aberdeen Angus topside as I couldn't get rib roast.

It better be the best goose ever for that price
Expensive! But respect for going old school and buying goose!
ArtieKat · M
Goose sounds good!
SW-User
Good grief!
deadgerbil · 26-30, M
That's just ridiculous lol there's nothing about a goose that warrants that price. I definitely wouldn't pay that for any bird
@deadgerbil this! People will do it because of peer pressure from dead people, er, I mean tradition.
Patriot96 · 56-60, C
That was FJB giving it ti you
Out of interest, where was it from?
Picklebobble2 · 56-60, M
@V00doo Local Butcher in Norfolk UK.
His stuff is always good because he sources from family that supply him.
@Picklebobble2 Ah, bet it'll be tasty then 😌

My dad used to rely on a Butcher in Mayfair - hidden away kinda place. Was less expensive than you'd think and the quality was 🔥
Picklebobble2 · 56-60, M
@V00doo We've had an awful year.
Cock-ups galore with supplies and costs and nothing seems to be working properly.
So I just said let's have what we want and enjoy it this Christmas.
My Mother will just love it.
Reminds her of her youth, goose at Christmas.
i got one for thanksgiving and that was 60$

I’ve seen turkeys for over 50 bucks worlds gone mad dude. @Picklebobble2
HotPizza71 · 51-55, M
I paid £15 for a frozen turkey 🦃
iamonfire696 · 41-45, F
Wow that’s insane
Picklebobble2 · 56-60, M
@iamonfire696 A lot of retailers are saying the months leading up to winter saw huge rises in gas/electricity/feed and fuel pricing which is why prices this Christmas are over the top.
No comfort for pensioners or those on limited incomes though.
