A shame. It was one of the fun things left to do here. Maybe as a gift for us all, they'll fix the broken feed for Christmas.

@carpediem yes fix the broken… I could care less about secret Santa…
NoGamesTolerated · F
I sure hope not. In my opinion, they don’t do it right. But that’s just me. What’s the point if one never ever knows who their secret Santa is? In the real world, where this is played, it’s a big secret but there comes a time when you reveal whose name you had… I mean that’s how that is supposed to go.

@Mudkip a little more detail here. It didn't cost anyone any coins. The account used their own coin for the SW gift. So anyone, even new users, could participate.

@DeWayfarer ohhh that seems fun then

I thought I missed the boat - I keep forgetting to look @swecretsanta seems to still be there....
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
@fun4us2b It's here. It's just inactive.
Starcrossed · 41-45, F
I noticed that too.
I wonder if it was someone who left for good.

@Starcrossed Lots of those lately
Adogslife · 61-69, M
You could set up a Yankee Swap…
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
@Adogslife Not familiar with that. Is that what we call a white elephant exchange?
Adogslife · 61-69, M
@LordShadowfire Basically you give a gift to someone and if they want to trade it with someone else, that’s cool. But the premise starts with you being given a name to give the gift to…
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
@Adogslife Oh. So it's a little different. With a white elephant exchange, the gifts are all placed in a pile, and everybody draws a number out of a hat. The first person selects a gift and opens it, and each subsequent person has a choice of either opening one of the unopened gifts or stealing a previously opened gift. To prevent it from going on for eternity, there's usually rules like a gift can only be stolen twice, and a person from whom a gift has been stolen can't simply steal it back, etc.
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
Nope. 😞 I would give a link, yet the person used their personal account to announce it.

Don't you forget about me

I like the secret Santa stuff, but I am terrible when it comes to the tech and cut and paste stuff that comes with it, so I always pass on the event myself.
Coralmist · 41-45, F
@WillaKissing Oh I'm not good at that either. All you have to do luckily is find a gift you wish to give to your selected person ( they tell you a users name) and then message SWECRET SANTA the gift title, and any holiday message you would like to have them include. Like, hope your holiday is Merry and joyous!
Then they do the rest of gifting it themselves with the message. (And they don't reveal your name to them)

@Coralmist Nah, if I gift, I want the recipient to know it was me and the why for and how comes of it. To me gifts should have heart and meaning and the recipient should know who the sender is.

few bother to accept gifts here
