Instead of celebrating the 4th of July, the US should have an annal apology day

Apologize to people of color for all the racism, land theft, genocide and slavery.

As always it's just wealthy white America that gets to determine just which bits of it's supposed history it wants to celebrate or apologise for....because it might attract a stray vote or two if a forthcoming vote is suddenly too tight to call.

As far as I know, "every other" country doesn't get defensive, nor wants to cover up, their history. In America, the ones who say, "everyone's too sensitive," suddenly become, the sensitive ones, about "true" American history.
