Thoughts on the freefall portion of skydiving?

I feel like I'm a psycho, and i only say that cause when i went skydiving for my first time it didn't meet my expectations at all, and i was highly disappointed tbh. The best part for me was touching a cloud. I don't get the hype of the free fall, it doesn't really feel like anything. Maybe that's also caused i expected to have a different feeling than i did, but still. Im hoping bungie jumping is what im looking for feelings wise.

You are one of those danger junkies!

@Human1000 I sus it for sure after that experience lol.

@Witchyvibes Thanks for the BA! I’d be paralyzed with terror to jump out of a plane.

If you did a tandem jump, which I'm assuming you did, doing a solo is much more enjoyable. You aren't going to get the same feeling strapped to another person as you would alone. Bungee jumping is enjoyable depending on where you do it but it doesn't compare to freefall..

@TexChik That's awesome. I thought I loved static line jumps but those HALO freefalls were beyond description.

@Ironhand Noooo! That’s a bit advanced 😉

@TexChik You're a ninja, you can handle it.

I wouldn't mind going to one of those indoor skydiving places but jumping out of a perfectly good airplane is not for me.
Witchyvibes · 18-21, F
@Pretzel Totally valid!

@Pretzel I did the indoor experience. It was fun

I never had a desire to skydive but oddly, I do have a craving to BASE jump
Witchyvibes · 18-21, F
@Jlhzfromep Ohh! I never knew the term for that, i wanna do that too honestly.

@Witchyvibes be safe if you do it

@Witchyvibes @Jlhzfromep getting into the sport of base-jumping, it is highly recommended to start with skydiving as the canopy skills you need to maneuver your parachute from low height along with dodging low structures. Most places that offer courses make it mandatory that you have at least 200-250 skydive jumps under your belt. Same requirements for Wingsuit.

as someone that has done it multiple times. this can happen. my first time was underwhelming too. So i went back 2 weeks later and paid in full for AFF to A license course. i have jumped 10 times at least and it wasn't until the 8th jump that everything just went away and it was like it was just me enjoying everything around me. Very peaceful. That feeling is different for everyone. and it happens with different number of jumps. other people are totally different, i have a buddy that has jumped like 70 times now and it took him till jump number 19 to feel free in the sky. so id implore you to go a few more times, or try AFF and see how you like it.

I wore a heartbeat monitor during a jump and it didn't increase. It was tandem though and the team that made it happen was very good at keeping us all talking and laughing until the door suddenly opened and there was sky everywhere. I did enjoy the trip once the chute opened and we were steering about. Worth doing at least once to see if it's your thing

They put him in an aeroplane without a parachute,
Glory glory what a hell of a way to go, When the petrol tank ran dry.
The Captain was the last to jump but first to hit the ground...

how do yall breath when falling? i struggle enough already when a fan on max power is pointed at me
Ynotisay · M
I think bungee or BASE jumping would give you more of that because the ground is coming at you really fast.
" 🤔..I'd rather be on the ground right now"
