@Longpatrol Old World is like a 'historical' version of fantasy, since fantasy is long dead as a game. The bases are slightly bigger, you don't need 100s of models to play (in fantasy the ideal unit for high elves was blocks of 50 models), and the game is faster and more fun.
For reference, when I went into the GW store I now manage for the first time to get involved in playing and stuff, and saw someone playing Ogre Kingdoms who had more models on the table than were in my entire high elf army at the time (I did only have the Island of Blood starter set and a lion chariot at the time to be fair)
