Stanley Cup Finals viewership way down this year

Vegas and Florida are both difficult markets for the NHL. Vegas being new and Florida because there’s little association with ice hockey. The people I know from Florida don’t even recognize there are two NHL teams in the state.

Also, I know when shows went to new streaming platforms, the people that track the ratings basically couldn't track it at first... I believe they now claim they can, but their numbers always seem low at first when they do ... and I think it's working off some assumptions which might be bad assumptions.


I believe following the ratings with streaming is half educated guesses now and the other half luck...


Also like the NFL's Super Bowls numbers supposedly shot Wyatt the heck up 2 to 3 months after the game ... clearly the numbers didn't change, but either the information they had or the assumptions they were using did...

Let's see...Vegas and Florida. For Americans, hockey was always something special that we could enjoy outside the other three major sports. There were teams called North Stars and Whalers, and they were from places like Winnipeg and Vancouver. Yeah, there were Flyers and Islanders, but those places were all close to Canada.....So now,....warm weather US towns ....it feels like exploitation is complete....

I would love to watch the finals but I can't because I don't have TNT

Streaming is about to blow everything up in the sports world. You Tube got NFL Sunday Ticket, Amazon Prime is getting into MLB and WNBA, the networks and cable nets are going to get shut out hard.

Having the NHL's most johnny-come-lately in the finals can't help
