Stanley Cup Finals viewership way down this year

It went down 37 percent compared to last years finals

Is this proof the NHL made a mistake with this new TV contract letting ABC and TNT alternate the finals each year. I think only half can only watch the finals when its on TNT (cable) then when its on ABC (broadcast TV)

These numbers dont include watching it through streaming like Hulu live TV or Sling

Or is it because there isnt a big market for the two teams playing

Also, I know when shows went to new streaming platforms, the people that track the ratings basically couldn't track it at first... I believe they now claim they can, but their numbers always seem low at first when they do ... and I think it's working off some assumptions which might be bad assumptions.

I believe following the ratings with streaming is half educated guesses now and the other half luck...

Also like the NFL's Super Bowls numbers supposedly shot Wyatt the heck up 2 to 3 months after the game ... clearly the numbers didn't change, but either the information they had or the assumptions they were using did...
