To get the shelf level my son handed me the spirit level saying...

"Oh the bubble is missing".... Then we spent some time arguing.... I claimed the bubble was still there but it was the liquid that was missing... The bubble being just gas.. We assumed air... The bubble just got bigger and filled the glass.... BUT he argued you can't have a bubble without a liquid... No liquid no bubble..... Your thoughts please...

A bubble is a closed surface and the surface is the interface between two immiscible fluids or one fluid and a vacuum, so it needs both fluids.

@UnderLockDown... I agree... I mean to fix the level you need to add a liquid... So it must be the liquid that's missing.
