To get the shelf level my son handed me the spirit level saying...

"Oh the bubble is missing".... Then we spent some time arguing.... I claimed the bubble was still there but it was the liquid that was missing... The bubble being just gas.. We assumed air... The bubble just got bigger and filled the glass.... BUT he argued you can't have a bubble without a liquid... No liquid no bubble..... Your thoughts please...

@Ontheroad much to my wife's joy the shelf is up and level.... Much to her annoyance we used the laser level...
