Just spoke to my doctor, his office is packed with COVID patients…

It was for chest congestion, I got tested and am COVID negative. His advice when we didn’t know was lots of water, vitamin D, C and zinc. He recommended “superfoods” like moringa and avocado.

I am vaxxed so he wasn’t too concerned about severe symptoms but keeping your immune system healthy is key!!

I've heard about the water and vitamin D, C and zinc.
A LOT of water every day..
Vitamin D3 (NOT regualar D) in a large dose (5,000mg/day).
Vitamin C in a super large dose (4,000mg/day). We found a convenient powder (fizzy drink) at SAM's "Immune MAX 2X" that is 2000mg. We like it much better than pills..
Zinc in a dose of 50mg/day is fine.

We also use Chinese tea beverages that some nurses recommended to us whenever we've been in public.. "Instant Momordica drink (:p Han Guo)" or "D-Fense" or "Isatis Root Tea".

We are both fully vaccinated with the Pfizer shots, but keep this practice ongoing since we are both older..

YES WE DO WEAR MASKS ALSO.. Everyone should..

Is vitamin D3 better for you than vitamin D?
Your body deals with the different types very differently. According to recent research, Vitamin D3 is approximately 85% better in raising and maintaining Vitamin D concentrations in the body and produces 200-300% greater storage of Vitamin D than Vitamin D2.

[@1154134,OldMan70] there are several forms of vitamin d. The body activates even d3 to The dihydroversion. It is somewhat complicated, but if you go to purchase a vitamin, yrs, buy d3. But, I would generally not go above 1000 units, unless under a physicians care for a deficiency or a child with rockets.

[@5627,samueltyler2] I ALWAYS get my doctor's opinion on the supplements I am thinking of taking (a holistic approach to fewer or no meds) and let her suggest the strength and dosage looking at my blood test results with me..

did he advise anyone to go get monoclonal antibodies? if people are sick and can get it, the data suggests it helps shorten the illness.

[@5627,samueltyler2] Here in FL only high risk patients are eligible. Thank god I’m not in that category!!

They have morninga in Viet Nam and i remember reading last year that nobody died there from Covid. But then again they have a lot of other natural anti-virals that are common in their diet.

[@16806,cherokeepatti] Ya moringa is used heavily in SÉ Asia and India. I cook with it once in awhile. My neighbor has a tree lol

[@946009,Quetzalcoatlus] I would definitely plant it if it grew here in this zone. Star anise, lemongrass, garlic, basil, and green tea are also good and might just have a synergetic effect when combined. and there are more
Glad to hear it's just a cold, and not the big one. And yeah, he's got some good advice.
