Schizophrenia is a mental disorder of unknown cause that usually begins to present in the late teens-early 20s. What it is not is a split personality condition.

It can include auditory, tactile and visual hallucinations, but more often it's a person's affect that's altered. They may display noticeable signs of the disorder but they may also experience quieter, less social elements of the disorder. Often there is a slight to severe disconnect with reality and others. Paranoia can be experienced, but often isn't.

Schizophrenia can be managed with medication, but there' no perfect treatment yet and no known cure.
@Graylight I’m just trying to stay out of the hospital. Today’s not a good day. It’s very loud in my head. Be well. 🦋

@DarkHeaven Hang in there. I don't mean that flippantly. Everything is temporary.

Schizophrenia is classified as a thought disorder. Victims often have delusional or paranoid thoughts coupled with psychosis. They basically can think things that arent true and act psychotic because of it.
Eta also schizophrenic attacks often come in episodes. One with schizophrenia may not always be symptomatic

Voices in your head nonstop 24 hours a day that never cease, they will convince you it’s a conspiracy against you and the medication is not needed and will belittle you and criticize your every action. And if by some chance you’re lucky enough that they go away you’ll feel lonely and miss them.
