At work last week

I was in a meeting with one man and 3 other women. We were discussing our nails and the man says, "I get mine done too."

I looked at him and asked, "Do you?"

He chuckled and said "No."

I said, "You should. It's good to treat yourself to some pampering. Lots of men get manicures. It keeps your nails and fingers healthy."

He looked surprised and asked, "You think I should?"

I said, "Absolutely! Treat yourself to some self care! You deserve it!"

Why do men get surprised that the things women do are actually good for their bodies and self esteem and that they could have that same pampering?

It used to be a treat having a mani-pedi date once upon a time. I should treat myself more.

Things like that are traditionally considered girly. We men are not encouraged to get our nails done and looking nice, and those who do run the risk of being called gay.

And yes, in today's society, there are still plenty of people who think there's something wrong with being gay.

@LordShadowfire Honestly, who cares what other people think. Get yo nails done! Get yo toes done! Be kind to yourself. F the rest!

I think men should get them too
