This is so true. Added to that, we lose too many to dementia, so they 'check out' before their body does. Very sorry for your personal losses.

A week ago a co-worker and friend died. He was in his early 40's, very physically fit. He played basketball and worked out regularly. Totally unexpected. He leaves behind a wife and 3 children.

Five days ago my aunt died. She was 93 so it was not much of a surprise. She will be much missed. She had 8 kids.

Since 2013, I've been to 32 funerals in total and am happy to report that none of them were my own.

Sorry for your loss.
It is one of those sad part of growing up. Seeing others departing or in poor health and suffering.

I'm sorry for your double loss. Unfortunately, it happens all too often at our age. I lost a friend last week. He and his wife moved away a few years ago, so we were no longer close.
