A good friend died unexpectedly this week.

And my wife's brother, who she was very close to, died earlier this summer, also unexpectedly.

In each case, the cause was medical issues that had not been previously known.

That's one problem with getting old -- too many people die on you.

Damn.

This is so true. Added to that, we lose too many to dementia, so they 'check out' before their body does. Very sorry for your personal losses.

A week ago a co-worker and friend died. He was in his early 40's, very physically fit, he played basketball and worked out regularly. Totally unexpected. He leaves behind a wife and 3 children.

Five days ago my aunt died. She was 93 so it was not much of a surprise. She will be much missed. She had 8 kids.
