Why indeed!? It’s not fun. However if people were immortal and had families we would overrun the planet at some point and then we would be starving and unable to die. Living in filth with the absence of privacy. Not a fun
Based on the flow and change of cognitive abilities at different ages, I think it suggests very very sutily that reincarnation is real and when we die we disappear for a while and comeback as someone or something new. Whether it is a reward/ punishment/ random or level up system, is even more a mystery than evidence or proof if it. I like to think something else on earth happens after I die.
