10 things learned in my 30s so far

1. There is no "someday", we have to make things happen and plant the seeds to see fruit. Make real plans, small actions that lead to larger ones, and do something about what you want, no excuses.

2. Consistency beats talent every time. The person who does a small amount every day will wear down stone faster than the person who does much sporadically.

3. Find the joy in not being good at something and apply number 2. Those who lament not being good at everything are inevitably good at nothing because they defeat themselves before they begin.

4. Uncover your motivations behind how you choose to be and feel or you will call it fate. Adlerian psychology really opened a new door in my understanding of the self. Unhappiness can be a choice, you just have to dig deep enough to find where you chose it and what it did FOR you, as there is value even in counterintuitive behaviours.

5. Identity is not fixed, but aspects can become calcified if left long enough, making them difficult to unlearn. You build evidence of what you do over time and logically you will conclude from that. However, we are irrational and emotional by nature, and negative conclusions cannot be relied upon.

6. Friends and lovers disappear over time, the best ones stay no matter what, it won't be many but be grateful to have such bonds.

7. Turn hard times, anger, frustration and sadness into fuel and focus towards something good in the future. Work out, write, put it into music, strengthen bonds. Never towards yourself.

8. If you're not who you want to be or where, become it over time using 1 and 2. Wear down the stone. Have the courage and honesty to be who you are and want to be, other people will die too so ultimately their opinions will not matter.

9. What you listen to, watch, eat, drink, say, and read will become you. Consume and spout negativity and you become it, eat cheeseburgers every day? You catch my drift.
As karma explains it is not cosmic justice, just a mindfulness that you buy the positive and negative possibilities with every choice and action, sone lean more in one direction than the other. Cultivate what you want.

10. You get one life as this person, others will pass on. Let them motivate you as their passing gift, and slap yourself awake. Nobody else is going to do it for you.
