Is it all down hill after 25?

But then no

Yes. It's over for you. Have you never seen Logan's Run (the original)?

You're 25-ish. I felt old, too. In fact, 30 was a life crisis for me. And more landmarks come along.

At 25 you're ready. To take on the world, to make change, to create a family or work of art or the next microprocessor. You've developed physically and now you're brain has caught up. You feel older because you're approaching a peak. Not the peak. The greatest lie anyone elver told was that life has one great crescendo, because there are so many.

You cannot understand this right now, but there will come a day when you look back at 25 and smile to yourself because you now know and understand. No, it's not all down hill. This is where the real ride begins.

At 26, I haven't noticed... yet

In terms of what? You're richer at 35 and no less attractive. You won't be quite as healthy, sure, but your body won't have crapped out on your or anything.
IamCuriousBabe · 51-55, F
You just reach a milestone, and THEN it gets more interesting.

Take it from me. I'm half a century old, and still finding reasons to love life.
Teslin · M
@IamCuriousBabe Absolutely !!
Well said, and I am older than you.
Not at all. I think it happens around 50. I'm 49 😳

My body aches and I'm tired all the time, and it's only going to get worse.
@MsSwan It’s not necessarily over then, either. 😉
@bijouxbroussard Nope, just downhill, lol

No, you're still going uphill at 25. Downhill starts about 55. When AARP starts the monthly literature campaign.

Not at all.

As you age, you understand important things more, like the value of love, trust and partnership.

If you’re motivated when you’re young, when you’re older you’ll have the gift of affluence. You don’t live from paycheck to paycheck. You can buy what you want when you want.

You also stress much less. You’ve pretty much seen it all, so life is quite a bit easier.

It’s 100% upside if you live without regret.

Not at all, I found my peak was around 40

I felt my best physically in my mid 30s. Everyone is different.

Aging certainly has disadvantages and challenges. But if you have many interests and expand and refine your knowledge that is a huge compensation with advancing age. I now know things about art, literature, history and music I was totally ignorant of in my youth. And I continue to read, study and make new discoveries.

I'd argue that's when most people finally hit their stride.
TexChik · F
Of course not. Most people have just matured and become interesting by 25.
sarabee1995 · 26-30, F
I sure hope not! Plus I feel like I'm still climbing the hill. 🙂
Scribbles · 36-40, F
Fuck, no. It's great being older than 25. People call me Ma'am. Way less men creep and perv all over you. You get waaaay more respect. You get seen more for your intelligence, and hard work, and the strength of your character, then as a sex object and you don't get dismissed as just a pretty and young little girl/baby. You have more presence, and part of it is because you look older, I think. Weird how its like that. I feel more like I'm considered an actual human being now (when I'm in my 30's) then all the rest of my life before 30.

So anyway...there is lots to enjoy about being old.
Sure you start to get wrinkles...and people judge you for not having kids yet, while they have like 3 of them...ok, I'm just going to stop while I'm ahead.
Pretzel · 70-79, M
definitely can pick up some momentum
Maverick96 · 36-40, M
I like how much more I know now than when I was 25 :)
