Anyone ever experience this medical mystery?

For seven years my sister has had severe, crippling pain in both legs. As if you ran five marathons , she described it. Plus, twitching also in both legs, it never stops. She's had every test done, every blood test, neurology etc. there's nothing that shows up. She now has neuropathy in her feet too, but two doctors have said the pain and especially twitches in her legs aren't typical neuropathy symptoms. One neurologist did believe that her leg issues is also neuropathy.

She's had a couple pain meds but they didn't help. I know there's many more however. Anyone ever hear of this mystery in her legs?? She can barely walk it's so bad. Thank you ♥

What pain meds did they try? If it's neuropathic pain, only certain types of pain meds work... and you can order those types online very easily. 🤷‍♀

But I'm not a doctor and the symptoms you describe are weird. Like you say, twitching wouldn't be a neuropathy thing. My initial gut reaction would be to check electrolytes, salt, and potassium. If she's on other meds, maybe an interaction?

If it's neuropathy, the next question would be why the sudden onset. The only thing I know of off the top of my head that causes sudden onset and long last neuropathy without obvious visible injuries or disease (stroke, dementia) is MS.

Again not a doctor.

@boklenholley7 I have CBD cream , she tried it once on her feet, it didn't do much. But maybe she can try on her legs as well. It helps my jaw pain. Only for two hours but at least it's something.
@Baybreeze might be a strength thing? Plus, CBD and THC have amazing properties on their own, but they work much better when combined. You can get flavorless powdered CBD online. It's just CBD but maybe you could play with the dose? Ofc idk the laws in your area, so that can get tricky.

@boklenholley7 Ty I appreciate your ideas.

Jeez, you brought these issues up a couple times last year, and after all this time still nada?

I looked it up and there's quite a long list of possible causes, but basically anything that could potentially damage the nerves in ones body, is suspect.
Any underlying issues that did have or was able to take control of symptoms, like diabetes or similar?

Where does her overall physical health stand, like does this issue overlap or "bleed" into other problems? I can see if that's the case, then it'll be more difficult to home in on.
Sorry she's still dealing with it. I hope something will turn around for her, sooner than later.

@Baybreeze These are all different specialist then and you have hit the ceiling. Correct?

You may have to seek other "alternative" diagnosis and treatments, that are mayhaps open to you, off the beaten path..... or country.

@Levenrack yeah, maybe psychosomatic, or idiopathic…
Levenrack · 46-50, M
@Wiseacre Yes but those I imagine would be at near the bottom of the list. If it's brought on from mental stress issues labeled as Zombie (get it?...) or just on a non-existent willpower or whim, producing strange bodily effects.

Unless she has been taking either one of the drug called NZT-48 or CPH-4 that amplifies or allows you to "access" a considerable amount more of your locked brain, never could before. 😏

Low likelihood, but good ones to pin up for later. 👍
Does it happen at a particular time of day.

Sounds alot like a friend who had particularly bad restless leg syndrome.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow Unfortunately all day, every day 😟
@Baybreeze Damn. Sorry to hear that. That is rough.

In that case it is likely not RLS. RLS usually hits in the evening and at night because it seems to be tied to whenever you stop moving for an extended period.

Gee, I wish I could help😟
Have her try a chiropractor. Not just any, get personal recommendations. It could be as simple as a vertebrae pushing on s nerve.
Did they test for Lyme disease?
Baybreeze · 41-45, F
@chernobylplaygr0unds They did but there's a rare kind too and I can't remember if they did that test or not. It had to be sent to CA for some reason. I'll ask her to see if they did it.

Is she taking vitamin D supplements by chance?
Baybreeze · 41-45, F
@Adrift No she's not.
