I had the weirdest doctor appointment today.

With a breast specialist, gotta get the girls removed. This surgeon is 76 years old and I know dementia/Alzheimer's when I see it. She was arguing with me that there's no way I could be in pain. She offered me male hormones and told me I needed a psyc evaluation. It didn't come together until I left that she probably was assuming I'm trying to transition 😂

She was horrifying. She couldn't get anything I said right. Accused me of being suicidal because I have PTSD. Told me I wasn't of sound mind. Offered me different pills telling me surgery for having lumps, history of cancer and pain was unethical.

This is what it's coming to. Arguing with boomers with dementia about my health and quality of life.

Frickin retire already. Let go.

It was so trippy and in hindsight, kinda funny she really assumed I wanted to have my breasts removed to be a man. A man, pfff.

I’ve been thru menopause but still have low iron. I asked the doctor about root cause since I haven’t had a period in several years. She seemed surprised and told me I should talk to my OB to make sure nothing serious was happening. Seriously?!? She’s younger so maybe not dementia, but no telling where she got a medical license from 😂

@NewRaven oh good grief. I really think some of these docs are trainable, but they don't really understand what they're doing.

I had to tell the doc today several times that I've had a hysterectomy, I don't have a period. I'm not pregnant 😂

It's scary. Really have to be your own advocate these days.

@ScreamingFox 💯… I’m not seeing said doc again lol
That sounds incredibly frustrating, surreal, and honestly upsetting — anyone would be rattled after an appointment like that. You were trying to talk about real symptoms, real history, and real concerns, and instead you got dismissed, misinterpreted, and talked over. That’s not “being sensitive,” that’s a genuinely bad clinical interaction.

Something seems suspicious about this. It's hard to understand that an accredited medical doctor would be still in practise if she truly has dementia. If you haven't reported her (aside from here), other patients most likely would.

You claim she offered you pills, didn't understand what you were telling her, and blurted out that you are suicidal. This is not the behaviour of a trained professional. There just seems like you extracted critical information from this story. 🤨

@MarkPaul I forgot about the unicorns that flew out of her butt

@ScreamingFox Ahhhhh. I knew it.

I can’t stand doctors who won’t listen or think the MD means they know it all. Time to find another doctor.
ScreamingFox · 41-45, F
@SageWanderer she seriously needs to retire..she stumbled into the room... I can't with some of these docs
SageWanderer · 70-79, M
@ScreamingFox Some of our local doctors need to either retire or go back to remedial medical school. That’s why my doctors are in the city.
ScreamingFox · 41-45, F
@SageWanderer yup, best to seek out better docs. It's scary really.
PatientlyWaiting25 · 46-50, F
That's horrendous. Can you see someone different?
ScreamingFox · 41-45, F
@PatientlyWaiting25 yes and I will..
Livingwell · 61-69, M
Pls see someone else. Do not continue with her. 🤗
ScreamingFox · 41-45, F
@Livingwell agreed. I'm kinda concerned people do see her and she's still operating.
Livingwell · 61-69, M
@ScreamingFox You really want a solid medical diagnosis. And a second opinion. I hope you do not have cancer. Keeping your breasts would be preferable but your health is priority #1.
Um.. how is she still working there? She sounds like she's gets off to pictures of a flat earth and argues with people who still poke her on Facebook
@ScreamingFox that's actually careless and negligence on their part
ScreamingFox · 41-45, F
@HijabaDabbaDoo I'm kinda thinking about saying something. Not just to her office but to the medical group. When I looked her up after to find her age I saw she has lots of bad reviews. But from what I've seen working in caregiving, people don't know how to handle these cognitive issues so they pretend it isn't happening. Or they just assume someone is mean or crazy when there's more to it. We need some awareness about it in the US because it's hitting the boomers hard.
@ScreamingFox Yeah, it's kinda concerning there's nothing being done about it. Drawing attention to it could definitely help

They are so arrogant. How dare you insinuate you know something about your own body.
