Ever have whiplash from an accident?

If so did you go to Physical therapy? How long did you go or need?

I'm entering my second month and the therapist said typically whiplash clients go two to three months. I'm just wondering if I'll feel better in a month🤔

I hope you feel better.

I know what neck pain is like. As you probably already know, two years ago I had flesh eating bacteria in the back of my neck requiring several surgeries to cut away dead flesh, then a skin graft cut from my leg and sewed to my neck(at the time my leg wound hurt more than my neck wound!). The neck infection spread to my vertebrae and I could no longer walk. I had to use a walker for two months. I am still messed up. My neck is sore and stiff, and legs still weak. I should walk more! But as long as I can drive and sit, I can still work. My brain still functions!

Yes back in 1993. Bad crash I slid on ice on a bend at about 50mph and hit another car coming in the other direction at same speed. Both cars written off. He went through a wall and fire brigade needed to cut him out.

I never has treatment except painkillers.

But years and years later I saw a physio for back problems with using a computer all day. She says randomly one day "You ever had bad whiplash?". I say no then say we'll 20 years ago.

She says "Yeah way you stand, sit etc shows it wasn't treated".

Your therapist is not on your side. 2-3 months is what your insurance company hopes but in reality 6 months is more realistic. Switch to a new therapist if possible. Swimming is helpful for whiplash.

@Muthafukajones Well I've already had chiropractor treatment several months too. But because it was still lingering I tried PT too.

@Coralmist RMT worked well for me. Swimming too after each session.

Luckily, no. I like to think that if it was ever needed, the head-rest would prevent that.

Some years ago the Police and insurance companies noticed an odd rise in whiplash-injury reports. Most were found to be fraudulent, sometimes linked with deliberately encouraging a rear-end collision to excuse the false claim.

@ArishMell I think even if your head was resting in the head rest, if there's enough force like my collision, the body will lunge slightly forward. And while I felt my body do that, and my head was not on the rest, because I wasn't parked or resting, I never felt my neck hurt until a day later!! But boy did it lurch that neck without me truly taking notice at the moment..I had SEVERE aches for months after ugh. Not all day, but off and on. That's terrible some were fraudulent wow.

@Coralmist I am very sorry to read that.

I don't claim the head-rest would entirely protect you at all, just lessen the effect.

I had it but I didn’t go for physio. It went away after a while.

If you're able to, try hot yoga! Not a quick fix, but it does work
