For the infected blood transfusion scandal.

300,000 people affected.

£10 billion expected cost.

Is there anyone our government doesn't owe money to ?

@Convivial Well, CLEARLY he now owes you BILLIONS !!! 😁

@Picklebobble2 at least!
What was the scandal exactly, can you explain
AntisocialTroll · 56-60, F
@mysteryespresso Back in the 80's and early 90's they were giving blood transfusions without testing the blood for diseases like HIV and hepatitis, they knew there was a problem but brushed it under the carpet.

As a result many people became infected through no fault of their own, it's been common knowledge for decades now and still people have not had compensation for what was done to them, obviously a lot have died in the meantime.

I don't think they owe me any money?🤔

Sounds just like the American Government over here too.

For Christ's sake I only make a certain amount of money and the banking system will only loan me an amount appropriate to my ability to repay the loan. Why the heck can't governments be held to the same standard and start making budget cuts like I have had to do.

That’s $20 billion in Australia

@Lilnonames Wait a while.
If you had any need of a government provided service over the last 30+ years, doubtless a Lawyer will be with you shortly
