About four months ago. Was cooking over a weekend for a workshop of 30 people. Sliced about 2 mm off the tip of my finger. It turned out the 1st aid kit was in the bathroom but it was locked while in use. Had to wait... blood spurting. Once the aid kit was accessible, used iodine, put the cut tip back on, bandaged it, and covered it with a rubber tube. Used a glove for the remainder of the weekend. The healing was slow and the finger tip numb for what seemed like ages. But now, the sensitivity has returned to normal and, amazingly, there is no scar!
Well done posting your hand. I really hope we get to see the rest of you some day.
My last bad cut was with the hole-saw attached to a drill. Somehow my finger got in the way of the blade and it opened it right up. I probably wasn't far off seeing bone! It didn't actually hurt that bad though, just looked nasty.
@Matt85That's great that it healed. Ah ok ..hmmmm u told me about that before lol about building that. Nice that u carried on with a plaster on haha..I have been doing that myself :P but in those two fingers.
Better coz can accidentally hurt fingers so good to have a plaster on..
@GraylightOh shit, no 😱 that sounds really bad, how did u manage to do that? If u don't mind me asking. Hope u are ok and nah I hope you will not have anything like that happen again.
@PrincessRoarBuddy Aw, thanks. Sounds worse than it was, but I know now that when working in a garage, one needs shoes that cover the toes and they should never, ever pretend they're bionic when removing things from high shelves (I'm a short-cutter). A lot of the stitches were internal, which is awful but they don't really show or hurt, so the scarring is minimal. If you live long enough, you'll do everything once, I guess.
@thepeculiarpandaOk well that's great but yeah I know the feeling well, for me it is difficult to do things right now but to not be able to play guitar is a bummer but good that u can play now.
Im always cutting my fingers when I cook. However about 3 years ago, I slipped as I shaved my legs and gave myself a huge cut on my ankle. Im still scarred.
