Sometimes the pores get clogged or your lymph node swells due to an infection etc.
Had that happen to me but it always subsided after a couple of weeks so I didn't suspect cancer or something.
However as we age the chances increase and based on family history I might get it checked out.

wash the area real good with soap and warm water frequently. sounds like your deodorant clogged pores causing the swelling and discomfort. if that doesn't help then call your doctor

Yeah when you get older you start to get those. I haven't had the opportunity to get them but my cat gets them and I knew somebody who got one under their armpit and tied a string around it so it would fall off and the end of it would rot but they were in so much pain after a month they just said no and just left it there and it just got getting longer and bigger because he kept yanking on it.

@ScarletWitch Its way under my skin so you cant see it..but you can feel the bump still.

@ScarletWitch Try having him twist it, at the base, once I had a skin tag, and it became twisted overnight...it had no blood flow and fell off a day ir two later.
Get it checked out. It could be a cyst that isn't going to get better without antibiotics.

Thats a lymph node cluster area. Upper respiratory infections will affect those nodes

Number of things it could be. Have it checked out. Especially since you are uncertain.
Have had lumps in many different areas for years. Doctor always said there was no obvious problem yet it was good that I had it checked.
One on my wrist I had for over ten years. Now not even a sign of it of any kind. 🤷🏻♂️

If it’s enough to make you concerned, you should get it looked at. Could be nothing, could be serious. Better to be safe than sorry.
don't wait to get it checked. could be nothing or could be something scary that spreads sooo quickly. be safe.

had one before - could be a blocked lymph node
if warm compresses don't help. probably should let a medical person look at it.

Probably a skin tag. They develop in places where clothes or skin rub against skin. It might hurt because it got pulled or irritated,. Still get it checked by your doctor.
