Ladies have you had a full body check..

With a male dermatologist?

My regular female doctor is on maternity leave, and I did still need to accept the appointment with a male. T ried other practices, none took my insurance. The main thing Im wondering, do they check your Vageen ?? My female one just does quick peek, like two seconds, but im REALLY on edge about if a male may... 😒
If your usual one does, then the replacement will, too - but it should be no different to a male doctor or gynaecologist.

He's just there to do his job and nothing else.
Huh?Dermatologist? I don’t think they would check that unless your complaints are in that region.
@CookieCrumbs I think she meant ob gyn.
Are you going for a general physical or for a dermatology appointment?

I’d say this; If it’s a general physical and it’s with a male physician, and you’re anxious, ask if a female chaperone or female nurse can be present.

I’d think if you have a dermatology related issue and it does not involve your area of concern, you wouldn’t have that done.

Call ahead and get your questions answered. Good luck.
@Coralmist I sent two initial messages. Both pretty much the same.

@soar2newhighs appreciate your feedback!!
@Coralmist You are welcome.
You might ask ahead and find out if this doctor has a female nurse female medical provider who can be present or “ take a look”.

@Coralmist trust me, there is nothing they haven’t seen. I would give an example with my gyn but it will sound weird here 😄😄
@Coralmist Ask for a chaperone to be in with you, that might help to reassure you.
@Coralmist I just messaged you .

Ya. And I always request a male gyn too when they ask me “do you want a lady doctor or a male” or something like that 😄😄😄

Dermatologist — doesn’t matter@Coralmist but gyn always a guy. I only had once a female gyn and decided not ever again. And just in general , all doctors I ve met — men have been better. So, ya if there is a choice I always chose a guy

@InHeaven Oh I am too nervous with a male gyno...and Im not sure if my male derm will be checking my V 😔
InHeaven · F
@Coralmist then tell him not to. Thats all. You can specify that. That to check your private parts you will go to your regular gyn. Thats all.

You could check to see if anyone has complained or was uncomfortable but from my experience the large percentage of doctors are professional. I’m currently going to a female dermatologist and nephrologist with no problems.
They do. It’s usually quick too, unless there’s issues (UTI or something they notice.) I feel the same way, though. It’s a very uncomfortable for me with a male Dr.

Maybe he has a female nurse who can substitute when it is time to study the sensitive regions.

I've had a couple male gyn's and it didn't bother me. It's science not sexual:)
Only go if he’s single… 🤭 Who knows he might be your soulmate! 🥺

A Dermatologist is a skin Doctor, not a General Practicioner..

@SW-User My female derm did check the vageen area...so I dont know if male one will too. Hes a good foc, ive just never seen him for FULL body scan.

@Coralmist You'll be okay, Coral..Don’t overthink it.
Coralmist · 41-45, F
@SW-User Ty my friend, I guess hes seen these things a thousand times.

Why would a dermatologist check your vagina? That’s for a gynaecologist
Coralmist · 41-45, F
@Jenny1234 a derm checks all parts of body in a full body scan, because though not as common, skin cancer can be found in peoples private areas.

A dermatologist??? Are you sure you don't mean gynecologist lolol
Coralmist · 41-45, F
@Lilymoon Lol.. see my reply to Jenny☘️

Yes, a few. I was uncomfortable, but there is always a female nurse there as well, which makes me feel better.
@caccoon same. I wish it didn’t make me feel uncomfortable because I get it’s like my problem… but it does.
caccoon · 36-40
@JustGoneNow I think it's okay to feel uncomfortable! Some things just are. That's how I feel about it, anyway.

I hope you're okay though. <3
@caccoon 🖤🤗
