You ever totally bought in to

What very well could be an ole' wives tale?🤔

My dad taught me that as a welder drinkin' milk helps you rid toxins and reduce the chance of Metal Fume Fever.

Some I work with laugh an shrug it off... Some of " US" bring some every shift🤣

Instead, use a respirator every time you work. The fumes, (zinc oxide), cause an allergic reaction that resembles the flu. If levels in the air are too high, only a respirator will help you.

The lifetime exposure might have effects that are, at present time, unknown.

@4meAndyou when we had a body shop my partner would get sick everytime he painted, with an approved respirator, milk was his solution.

@4meAndyou I hear you...I do.... There are certain OSHA Min. Tech. Standards of exposure to galvanize metal. I can attest however that beneath the helmet you must wear... A respirator would make it a chore to breathe. 🤷‍♀️

@Trippin galvanized 😬
Be careful with that, bad to weld!
Trippin · F
@Virgo79 Yeah... Its a challenge.
Trippin · F
@Virgo79 Indeed. Very Interesting.... I know some been welding 30 years and swear by it. Others not so much 🤷‍♀️

@Trippin I don't know that it does anything but make ya feel better though.
Welding galvanized will eventually do one in.
Trippin · F
@Virgo79 Perhaps... Plus it just sucks ass to weld. Inclusions...air pockets... Its gonna break. 🤷‍♀️
