Four hours into half term holiday and my daughter managed to get herself grounded

She went out when she was asked not to, switched off her phone, and was rude to my wife when she eventually came home. I was out working at the time. Got a text message saying I needed to enforce the sanction next day. Thanks 🙄

Daughter very unimpressed at being kept inside on a sunny day and did a lot of noisy stomping around in case I was in any doubt 😅 We had a "little talk" at lunchtime which inevitably ended with her very remorseful and tearful, and me in tears as well because she is so earnest and tender-hearted and never really means to be naughty 😥

Which is how my wife came to find us snuggled up on the sofa together in our pyjamas, eating hummus, watching youtube videos. Wife gets the idea that I haven't taken the grounding seriously enough, now she is more annoyed with me than my daughter 🤷‍♀

Perhaps I should be grounded instead. It might be nice. At least I could read my novel in peace 🙂
