I use my PC for anything Internet-related and for the serious software I use.

My portable 'phone handles calls and (awkwardly) texts only; and not many of either.

My land-line 'phone is, guess what? Yes, a telephone!

my computer is a great asset to me, don't know about a 'friend'.

As @ArishMell commented: phone and computer are just inanimate tools. Friends are people I communicate with through the wonders of technology.
