I just can't

I've tried my best these last few years, I just haven't got it in me to fight anymore, it hurts too much...I just don't know what to do anymore. I'm better than this I know that, I just defeated right now.

Ever thought about giving up the alcohol?
It is a depressant after the initial high. The after affects can be melancholy and morbidity.
Believe me, I know. Extreme alcoholic for more than 30 years.
I decided one day that I would not drink ever again. Never had another drop. That was 23 years ago.
Best decision I ever made. Sure, it was hard to begin with. Having to change my whole lifestyle, having to remove people from my life. Start afresh, clean slate.
I found new interests to occupy my time. Mostly goinf out into the Aussie bush, enjoying nature, watching the critters, photographing the birds and animals.
I would say I am content at this point in my life.
I never dwell on my past misdemeanors. Life can be great if we allow ourselves to experience that pleasure.

@Gusman I've tried and failed a few times..longest I've gone is 5 months. Clearly I don't want to give up. Before that 2 weeks has been the longest..

Always remember life is a gift everyday is a blank canvas and what we create is up to us yes others control circumstances around us but how we face the circumstances is our choice

Even fighters world champions are knocked to the ground sometimes everyone gets knocked down but it is up to us whether we stand again or not

Are you fighting yourself or someone else?
Caraxes · 41-45, M
@Unlearn ah don't mind me mate. Alcohol has taken over now. 😥
Unlearn · 41-45, M
@Caraxes Alcohol may provide a distraction, but it doesn't solve the problem.
Caraxes · 41-45, M
@Unlearn fair you'd think I'd learn by now

I think when one feels less motivated in life, one should go beyond and look for the underprivileged ones. To be grateful helps a big deal.

I feel the same
Caraxes · 41-45, M
@funxxx707 I'm sorry you feel that way. Wish I could help

You should scrounge up the last bit of "you" that's left, and ask your doctor to provide you with some antabuse.

If you take the pills religiously for 6 weeks, you will begin to feel a LOT better.

Sorry all, was having a bad day yesterday. In work today miserable as sin but I'll be ok. I always am to be fair...
